VP’s Corner – Oct 2026
September 30, 2026President’s Corner – Oct 2026
Welcome, October!
Yep… Fall has officially arrived (Autumnal Equinox was Tuesday, September 22, 2026)!
College and Pro football have returned (swing by the OCSC bar and join your fellow club members enjoying the game and enjoy a libation!) Cider mills are bustling and we’re experiencing days of shorter sunlight and dramatically cooler nights and early mornings. As I said last month, I’m quite sure that we’ve all been here before!
Take some time to enjoy the last bits of summer with family and friends at OCSC.
Before I move along, I want to strongly encourage you to read another excellent article from the 1st VP of OCSC, Mike Stailey. In the article, VP Stailey speaks to the fact that OCSC has made some much-needed changes. I understand that any change is hard to accept. But accept, as OCSC members, we must. The changes will make OCSC a much stronger club by adhering to our foundational document, the OCSC Constitution and Bylaws. And mark my
words, there will be more productive changes made to the operations at OCSC in the months ahead.
Personally, I view change at OCSC as a “good thing” … needed improvement to existing practices & policies that correctly align OCSC with the current OCSC Constitution & Bylaws. And while I’m on the topic of change and the OCSC Constitution & Bylaws, the standing Constitution & Bylaws committee is actively reviewing and updating the OCSC Constitution with a target completion date of late December 2026/early January 2027.
Ambitious? Absolutely. Necessary? Without a doubt.
You, as a member in good standing, will have the opportunity to vote on the proposed changes. Stand by for details… all of which are being considered to bring OCSC into the 21st century and to clarify and fortify important governance issues.
Shifting gears, here’s a look at upcoming events at OCSC!
