1st, Independence Day is just around the corner… let’s all celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence! I hope that everyone enjoys a safe and festive holiday.

Now, in case you hadn’t noticed, there’s been a lot happening at OCSC in the recent weeks and a lot of people (members and non-members alike) are talking about this club in positive terms…

• Ladies Adventure Day took the club by storm on Saturday, May 30 @ OCSC. Nearly 100 ladies took part in the daylong event. What a terrific way to showcase OCSC to “the fairer sex”! The whirlwind behind this fabulous event is Monique Matson (and a host of OCSC members).
• OCSC hosted the Michigan State Steel Championship match on June 5, 6 & 7… the 3-day event is a real “feather in our cap.” What a terrific way to showcase OCSC to top-tier shooters from around the country! Hats off to Mike Stailey (1st VP) and his incredible crew.
  Everyone I spoke with at the event (and afterward) judged it a resounding success! A door has opened for OCSC to rise to prominence among the shooting community!
• On Saturday, June 13, OCSC hosted Magic Bus, a well-known musical band. The event was a huge success… very well-organized thanks to Kim Scribner (K1) and her incredible team of volunteers. The giant party (600+ people!) was blessed with great weather… everyone (and I mean everyone!) I spoke with was gushing with praise and remarking on what an amazing place OCSC is! In my time as a member of OCSC, I can’t recall another band night that was so
  successful or enjoyable.
• And not to be overlooked, I want to thank all of the volunteers that worked hard to makethese events successful! Your efforts paid off in spades.

And as I’ve said before… remember to volunteer your time at OCSC. Get involved with the club and all that the club has to offer! Help make OCSC the greatest place to enjoy the beautiful Michigan summer.
