Archery Club News – February 2026
2026 brings new challenges for Archery. We are lookingfor people who is interested being Archery President or Vice-President as Mike and I are moving on. We will still be volunteering at Archery, just not in these positions. We also have an opening on the OCSC Board of Directors for Archery. Let me know if you are interested. We are also taking nominations for Archery of the Year.
JOAD recently shot in the indoor SAM shoot at Detroit Archers and the Rushmore Rumble in Indianapolis, IN. I hear we brought back 5 awards from the SAM. Good shooting! JOAD will be practicing for FITA at OCSC or the Indoor Nationals in Mason, MI.
The Lancaster Shoot is happening as I write. We have Archers that made the trip to Lancaster, PA. We hope they take care coming back as the drive will be very snowy. More locally, the first leg of the Souper Sunday Shootout occurred at DSC. The second leg is at Frankenmuth-Forest Archers on February 8th. Come out and support our club at this shoot.
Our winter leagues are in full swing. All leagues are moving smoothly, and they all have open spaces. Come out and shoot with a league if you would like to more. Changes to the Archery rules were just published identifying league guest fees and changes that affect the league secretaries.

Are you looking for work hours? We are still looking for a volunteer or two to vacuum the indoor range once a week during winter leagues.
Tuesday Workbees are usually at 9 am on Tuesdays. If you came out to help and nobody was there, the weather has been hindering us as it has either been raining or simply too cold. There are many trees that need to be cut down for the safety of archers on our outdoor courses. We
have other tasks to be done. Give me a call if you would like to help.
Check the Archery website for updates at: Archery Events or Archery Facebook or JOAD.
