2026 Hunter's Banquet Report
Thank you all who attended the 2026 Hunters Banquet. 202 tickets were sold this year. It was a great amount of fun but a lot of work for our team of volunteers and we hope you all enjoyed the event.
The last Hunters Banquet at OCSC was back in 2023. This break in the event was mostly due to amount of planning required and the lack of volunteers who were willing to jump in. Last year the OCSC Muzzleloader Club, The Clan of the Wolf, decided to try to bring back this event. Our hope was that if we reminded the club just how to pull off a successful fundraiser dinner, other sub-clubs would volunteer to host this event in the following years. All profit from the event was for the main club, including the freezer the Clan purchased so we could store Clan meat.
Thanks also to the bar staff who kept things flowing all night. Kim and Kim also did a bunch of prep work in the background to help prepare for the banquet.
Game donations were down this year, but we were fortunate that the “6 of Harts Elk Ranch” donated an elk cow to the club for our event. Special thanks to Cliff and his team at the Ranch.

We had a good amount of gun card raffles this year thanks to the support of Tonya and Wally from Hunters In Sight Firearms.
The week of the event is very intense, as we have S days to prepare everything, while sharing the kitchen with Ben and his team. In 2026, the club has a busy and active restaurant. The banquet in 2023 and before were not like this. We decided the best way to coexist with the current kitchen was not to shut it down for the banquet, but to hire Ben and his staff to help us on the day of the event. The kitchen team this year was exceptional because of Ben’s Team working together with the Clan.
A special “Thank you” to all the volunteers for your assistance in making this event successful. It took nearly five hundred hours of volunteer time to put on this event. It was good to see all the new volunteers, but we missed some of the volunteers who have helped over the years. A report of all your hours is in the office. Make sure to add them to your card when you renew your membership.
There is another group deserving thanks for their part in making the event happen, they are the meat donors.
