Welcome, September!
Really? “Fall” is just ahead (what happened to summer?) and that means college football (Go Green!), Lions football (Go Lions!); MLB Playoffs/World Series (Go Tigers!), cider mills, shorter days, and cooler nights… school buses on the roadways… I’m pretty sure that we’ve all been here before! Take some time
to enjoy the last bit of summer with family and friends at OCSC.
Before I forget, some important housekeeping news. I’m pleased to announce that:
- Chris Collins has joined the OCSC leadership team as the OCSC Treasurer.
- Carol Kowaleski has joined the leadership team as Executive Secretary.
I anticipate that Eric Larsen will be confirmed as 2nd VP. Then the OCSC Executive leadership team will be complete… I’m very excited to have an extremely competent leadership corps!
Expect great things and embrace the positive changes that are being discussed and implemented to ensure OCSC is regarded as a great club! And have you checked out the freshly paved parking lot at the OCSC Archery Club?
Now, this never gets old… there’s always something good happening at OCSC!
Family Fun Day @ OCSC – August 29 – 3 to 9 pm.
Everyone is welcome to this free event. There will be:
A “bounce house” for the kids
DJ & Karaoke
Cornhole tournament
Hot dogs & hamburgers provided by OCSC
Bring a dish to pass around and bring a chair! Hope to see you there… it’s going to be a great event.
- WHRRI is hosting a race on Sept 26-27… the “Big Bore Bash”
- MMRA is hosting 3 races in September (9/12, 9/13 & 9/26)
- Shotgun fall league begins (check the OCSC website for more information)
- Archery leagues
- Muzzleloaders Fall Rendezvous – Sept 18 – 20 (pig roast on Saturday, Sept 19)
- IDPA, USPSA, SCSA, GPA (if you don’t know what the acronyms stand for, please ask!), Bullseye, Bowling Pins, Jr. Rifle, Hi-Power Rifle… the list goes on and on and on!
- Fishing on Townsend or Woodhull Lakes
And if you haven’t visited the OCSC outdoor range since it was rebuilt last fall, you’re in for a pleasant surprise when you do! Please check the OCSC website or visit the OCSC Facebook page for more information on the numerous events that are happening at your club. And please remember to volunteer your time at OCSC. Get involved with the club and all that the club has to offer! Help make OCSC a great place to enjoy the beautiful Michigan fall.
