Spring is Here!
Spring means the outdoor shooting season is about to get into full swing and the indoor range league and matches are finishing up. To that end USPSA and IDPA are starting up on the APR with USPSA on the 2nd Sunday and IDPA on the 3rd Saturday. Steel Challenge (SCSA) has been roaring all winter long and continues as normal on the APR with the 1st Saturday and 1st Sunday of each month.
Those steel shooters are tough and dedicated! There are other matches on the APR where we can fit them in, typically Fast & Furious on the 3rd Sunday (other form of steel shooting). There are some adjustments to this schedule to accommodate other activities. All matches are on Practiscore.com so check there to see the dates and register.
The 100-yard outdoor range is closed until further notice be we are working on the number of things to get this back open ASAP. During this time, the 10-, 25- and 50-yard ranges are open as normal. Stay tuned for further updates.
OCSC welcomes the Michigan State Police! You most likely have seen a large presence of blue vehicles and troopers on the property lately. MSP District 2 is using the indoor range ready room and one bay of our APR range to go through the transition training and qualifications from their existing Glock pistols to their new Sig 320 red dot sighted pistols. This activity will run through the Spring with two, two-day classes per week. OCSC has already gained some new members from the troopers in District 2 and that will continue to grow as there is a lot of interest from them in the club.
Note, no range closures are occurring from this activity. We at OCSC are proud to support our LE community!
