MUCC Update – November 2025
November 3, 2025
As I transition into the role of Vice President, I am gaining a deeper appreciation for the scope of responsibilities and the dedication required to help lead our organization effectively. I remain committed to learning, supporting our members, and upholding the values that make OCSC such a strong and vibrant community.
In response to recent issues with the key card access system, I have been working closely with the President and the Office Manager to conduct a comprehensive overhaul of the system. Our goal is to improve reliability, enhance security, and streamline member access. Further updates will be provided as progress continues.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize OCSC member Jan Kramer for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and countless hours of effort in bringing the new 100-yard outdoor range to completion. His commitment has been instrumental in turning this long-anticipated project into a reality that will serve our membership for years to come. I would also like to extend sincere appreciation to all the members who volunteered their time, skills, and labor to make this range possible. If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit, I encourage you to do so it stands as a testament to what our members can achieve together.
As we enter November, the hunter sight-in season continues on the new outdoor rifle range. PPC and Bowling Pin shoots are well underway, keeping our ranges active and engaging. As the competitive season winds down, IDPA and USPSA matches will conclude for the year, with Saturday morning practices continuing on the indoor range throughout the winter months. Steel Challenge matches will also continue to provide members with opportunities to compete and sharpen their skills during the colder season.
Please join me in congratulating member Mat Hall, who was recently crowned National Champion at the 2025 IDPA National Championship. In addition to this impressive achievement, Mat earned the distinction of Distinguished Master, the highest classification within IDPA. He is one of only two individuals in the State of Michigan to hold this rank the other being fellow OCSC member Brian Wice.
Congratulations are also extended to Waterford Hills racers Matt Spicuzzi and Alex Lozano, who placed first and second, respectively, in their class at the Annual SCCA Runoffs widely regarded as the premier event in SCCA racing.
It is inspiring to see so many of our members achieving excellence in their respective disciplines. OCSC truly is a place where dedication, skill, and community come together and where champions are made.
