Jr Sportsman Adventure Day – 2025
May 27, 2025
Summer is Now in Full Swing!
Our summer leagues are going strong with 3D on Tuesdays, Federation of International Tar_get Archery (FITA) on Wednesdays, Field & Hunter on Thursdays, and JOAD on Sundays. 3D Youth League is now cancelled as we did not have anyone sign up. Since the Archery Banquet we have been busy with our archecy sfioots. The Zombie Shoot was a iittle lighter this year but the weather cleared out right before the shoot making a wonderfu 1 evening for shooting. This was followed by Juniot Adventure Day which brought out 72 youths who learned how to fletch arrows. They were also given instruction on shooting a recuve bow. Thanks to the archers who came out to make Youth Adventure Day successful.
The Independent Archers Association (IAA) hefd their 3D outdoor shoot the next weekend bringing 82 shooters. The setup crew put together a challenging course that tested an archer’s skill.
The Michigan Bow Hunters follows IAA. The course will be set to allow for camping in the Meadowbrook field. I would like to tell you more about the success of this shoot except for it occurs after press time for tfiis article .
At the end of May is Ladies Adventure Day. The indoor range will be closed to host this event.
In June we have the 3D Fun Shoot on June 8th. Father’s Day weekend, we have two shoots. We have the SAM Outdoor Tournament on the racetrack and the Traditional weekend. We will need lots of help getting both courses set for the weekend. Also, let your friends know that we nave a b1ock of rooms at the Comfort Inn & Suites on Sashabaw Road. Just mention that you are with Archery.
Junior Olympic Archei;y Development (JOAD) is practicing for the SAM tournament and Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA)-Program will be practicing for the 3D shoots at nearby clubs. Practice is on Sundays between 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
Work bees are now on Wednesdays at 9 am on the outdoor range. Most of the work consists of repairing the broad head shooting pits by buircting up the framing and adding sand.
